Physiology is the scientific study of all the physical, chemical and mechanical processes that take place in the body in order to function. Exercise physiology utilises exercise as medicine to prescribe effective treatments to those suffering from a range of medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.
Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university qualified allied health professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with acute sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.
Pathology domains covered by the services of AEPs include cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, cancers, kidney, respiratory/pulmonary, mental health and any other conditions for which there is evidence that exercise can improve the client’s clinical status.
Some of these conditions can include:
✅Cancer
✅Musculoskeletal injuries/conditions

Why choose programming?
You may be eligible for rebates or subsidy for EP sessions. If you have a chronic health condition (a condition or injury lasting +6 months) you may be eligible for an EPC referral from your GP. Under Medicare, you may qualify for 5x subsidised allied health sessions per calendar year.
DVA white and gold card members may also utilise GP referrals for EP sessions with SCEP.
